»AOpen S150 ITX Case

Quote

When you need a computer for a tiny space, your choices of cases need to be picky. Buying the right case is the key for airflow and system longevity. The AOpen S150 steps in to fill the ITX void. It does this well.

I am using the S150 with an Intel D201GLY2 board. This is indeed a great combination, in terms of cost and looks.

However, between the CPU fan and the PSU fan, they make for quite a drone to be used as a living room PC. From the sound of it, it is the PSU fan which is the bigger culprit.

In steady state, motherboard and CPU temps are about 50 - 55 C, so there is not much room to deactivate either fan. I wonder if there are quieter fans in the market to replace the PSU one with. A bigger fan that moves more air at a lower rpm would have done it only if it can go in to the small PSU, but alas.

Welcome to the site.

As you can see from the review, I used a fanless board. The unit was fairly quiet with that.

What card readers fit in that slot? I just ordered an s150 and I would like to have the card reader option.

Thank you!

I'm sure he meant what cards fit in the reader since it is built into the unit I had. I see it is an optional part from Aopen, but it supported SD and CF among others, it says 7-in-1. I no longer have the case to verify this, though.

Well its not a deal breaker if I cant find one that works. I read Aron's review and he mentioned the reader and I assumed he added it since on the Aopen site it says optional. Maybe I will get lucky and it will have one. If not, once it arrives Im sure I can figure it out by the dimensions. I just wondered which one because I was thinking of ordering one so it arrived at the same time as the case.

Update:

In case anyone else sees this later and is wondering about the card reader for this case. I got the case today and it does in fact, come with the 7 in 1 card reader already installed in the case.
