Final Verdict
The Belkin Linksys Wemo Dimmer costs $80 (Amazon) at the time of this review. The Wemo Mini costs $35 (Amazon) at the time of this review. The Mini is slightly higher than competing products, but the fact that it doesn't block both outlets in a receptacle is worth the premium. The Mini is a standard smart plug that offers all the features you would except. Scheduling, remote, and manual controls are all included through the Wemo system. It works fine. The software can use some work, but it gets the job done without getting (too much) in the way.
The Wemo Dimmer is an excellently designed product. The fit and finish is superb as is the look and operation of the switch, itself. This type of hardware instantly makes your house more modern. The touch panel for dimming a lights is unique and people will notice it. Pair that with the ability to integrate with the regular smart home players like Home, Alexa, and IFTTT, the dimmer becomes more useful than a mere switch. It can even control other Wemo devices on the same network just by long pressing. Belkin gave this product some thought and it shows.
