We all use flash drives instead of the older floppy disk standard of last century. The problem with USB is that it isn't made to boot like a floppy disk. Motherboards now support booting from USB drives made to look like hard drives. This guide is a step by step process running on Ubuntu.

Will test out once i get my virtual pc up
Wont be happening soon since linux dislikes my graphics card

Awhile ago I learned how to do this in Windows. If I ever have time I might explain how it came to pass.

Hi, thanks for the HowTo which I found really easy to follow.

Everytime I try to sys the usb drive I get the following error:
can't read old boot sector for drive E: (which is my usb stick).

Any ideas why this is not happening for me?

forget it. i got it to work.

for some reason my usb stick was being assigned to drive e: which according to autoexec.bat is reserved for the cdrom drive -- weird -- just open /home/USERNAME/.dosemu/drive_c/autoexec.bat as root in gedit and change 'e:' to another letter of your choice (like f Smile
